It is sooo nice to have a bit of time off work!  Finally (after how many days) I'm finally able to get into my stampin room and work on the January projects.  The projects have been ready in my mind, but not actually done.

I wanted to make the SU file folder note pad holder, they are so nice and substantial feeling.  I was thinking about all the uses for the project and thought I'd ramble off a few ideas, but every time I do that, creative stampers find better reasons and uses for each project.  So, let me know how you'll use your project … I'd love to hear.

The 2nd project is my traditional calendar (not months behind like in past years).  Janice made some darling layouts of this calendar project and I gave it a try.  It's so quick and cute, not to mention useful.  You know how I like to give you choices???  I planned on giving you lots of choices of the designer paper I have… so many flavors…  BUT, if I let you loose on designer paper, I'd have no idea what coordinating solid paper to bring…  SO, I decided to use only Bella Bleu dsp (that's my favorite).  While I was on a roll early this morning, I decided to stamp the flower/bee/butterfly (you get your choice of one) to save you a step.   As I played around with coordinating colors, I water colored many of them while making up the samples.  I just did all of them. Then I shimmery painted them…  oh my, I found myself surrounded by lots of pretty butterflies, flowers and a few bees.  Does this sound just like a blog post of a month ago?  It looked almost like that.  I guess I have a thing for butterflies (yep, plenty of them are blue too).  Wait till you see this project!

Finally, something Valentines Day-ish…  I wanted to use SU's card/envelopes (sold in sets of 20).  I also wanted to use a new clear mounted stamp set or two and those new cool punches.  During our pre-order time, I noticed some cute little epoxy brads in the mini catalog… purchased a bunch knowing they'd come to good use.  Oh, one more wish for this project… to use that stamp set with the dandylion blowing in the wind (little tiny hearts flying off, rather than seed pods)…  This is what I came up with…  (and at the beginning I was worried this project would be boring and to simple… ha!).

So, are you ready to see the projects?
