A Spring Time Dress Made From Punches for Michelle

May 17, 2011

It was Michelle's birthday last week.  Charlene and I were talking about our thoughts about making a nice card for Michelle.  We both knew it needed to be purple (her favorite color)…  as we tossed ideas back and forth, we decided to make our own card for Michelle, but using many of the same products/supplies as each other.  It was our little game to see if she noticed that the cards were similar, but different.

We decided to use purple, top note die and the flower punch.  I really didn't want to make a super duper big flower, so I went a completely different direction and made this!  Hum… I"m thinking I should post Charlene's card too so you can see the two side by side…

I used the tab punch for the dress bodice, and to bling it big time… glitter and rhinestones will do it!  Then for a belt – originally the belt was ribbon, but the holiday tinsel was calling my name…  I love it!  T

The skirt is made from vellum… I brayered the vellum with eggplant ink before punching it.  Once it was assembled, it looked a bit boring – BLING to the rescue.

After completing the dress… there wasn't much room for a message…  A punched message was lots – the banner worked perfect.
