So… as I was thinking about what would be some cool projects for Spring Fling… That cowboy card was kinda looking at me as it proudly sits on my desk (love that card). I thought I'd put the cowboy in the pile of possibilities to share with Janice as Spring Fling possibilities. It was a Saturday morning and we had family coming over later that afternoon for everyone's b-day party (Tony's bday is 2/2 and his sister's b-days are 2/5… we always celebrate all 3 in one day!). Uncle Rob was expected to arrive with his pinwheel roll ups (he makes really, really good ones… we always request them!) BUT he was not feeling too good.
I thought a get well man card would be another good thing to design. Because I was a bit smitten with the cowboy card and it was a man card AND I remembered I purchased Grunge Rock stamp set just for making something cool for Rob – wha la… I morphed the two! The cowboy project became an Uncle Rob Get Well project. Oh, I love it!
I figured a lasso around the guitar wouldn't be fitting so opted for some metallic brads – guitars all all silvery and metallic, right?
The color coach is my best friend. I used colors directly from the color coach. I wanted some manly color combination… when sponging color on the white paper, I wanted the guitar to look like it was on fire, or glowing. I sponged using gray, cajun and mustard.
The window sheet is stamped with staz-on black. All the coloring/stamping is on the white paper. The window sheet is attached with 3 glue dots under the guitar (or they'd show thru).
I guess I can't keep making cowboy/guitar cards.. .should move on… But, it's SO cool! Hum, maybe girls colors and flowers (all the color under… kinda like a field of flowers) on the window sheet! That would be different, right? OR, someting flying – hummingbird, or butterlfy… oh, sky colors… or greens (like trees or lush spring fields)! OH, birthday balloons! Perhaps the window sheet hangup isn't through!
Happy Stampin!
