My July swap
Each month I participate in a few swaps. Here's my July swap card. Sometimes my swaps are okay, or good… other times I REALLY like them… like this one!
I used the new Hostess Level I set – Because I Care and the new Big Shot embossing folder Vintage Wallpaper. After the suede paper was textured, I ran a black stamp pad (yep, staz-on… Love the smell) directly on the paper, ran/slid it across the high points of the texture.
Next step was coloring the flower. I started with my aqua painter and washed (lightly colored) the flower with suede. I purposely had the suede/aqua painter wash uneven… some parts are much darker than other. After that was dry, I colored each flower with marina and baja (Baaa Jaaa). I tried to find each flower center and make the center darker (so the white gel pen would be crisp).
The leaves are also washed in suede … then colored with pear and olive.
After coloring I used a white gel pen to accentuate the flower centers.
The final step is the BEST of all step! Use your versa pad and smoosh it all over the finished colored flower (nope, won't soil your versa pad) making sure to cover every spot FULL of versa. Dip in clear embossing powder… heat. As I said, this is the best part… when you apply versa over your colored flower, the image comes to life… It is as if the colored area are rehydrated and alive! The clear e.p. sets the yummy finished product.
Happy Stampin!
