Birthday Calendar (1 of 4)
SU has a Birthday Calendar. I took a LONG time to warm up to the idea of a birthday calendar. Well… I liked the idea, but the thought of decorating each month's page was NOT appealing to me. That would be SOOO much work and the way my taste changes, I'd be tired of it before I finished designing/stampin and decorating the page. Another hang up was that I've seen birthday calendars that hold cards too. The SU birthday calendar is just a place to put names (not hold cards). Well, long story short, I did it! Last year I made a birthday calendar… decorating one month each month. I tried to use my favorite stamps and really think out the design in advance. I wanted the pages to represent the season and spirit of each month. I love it! … and I came up with an answer to the lack of a spot for holding the greeting card to be used for each month.
What do you think?
I embossed January with white craft ink, then sponged using a dauber 3 shades of blue. On each page, I tried to mask off the dates to write special friends/family names.
February's page is a Poppin Pastel page. I used versa mark and chalk (pastel)… pretty, huh?
March, ahhh… this is one of my favorites. I took forever to color it! The border stamp fits perfectly along the edge. Yep, glitter and more glitter to finish off.
See next post for more months.
