POST PARTY – Sunday, August 30th @ 11a (Round Table Pizza, Folsom – Broadstone) – let me know if you can make it! Great time to design your shoe box project (bring plenty of ideas).
Okay… do I start with my favorite or leave it for the end… you decide! : )
All 3 of the August projects are yummy!
#1 – Medallion – This is my new favorite stamp! The minute I saw it in the new catty, I loved it! There are 3 different samples using this stamp in the new catty! I want to make every one of them. For inspiration when designing this month's projects, I had 3 cards in front of me using this stamp. I loved them all. Our project is a combo of all 3. THEN I came up with a different design and used it for Janice's b-day card. See Saturday's posting. The blue butterfly card is georgeous! Janice & I like it so much we decided this will be a perfect for stamp camp!
#2 – On a Pedestal – This is a new stamp set in the new catty. Love it! Very simple card, but cute. When you make this card, you'll have two choices (okay, lots of choices): man/girly; which designer paper; which cake stamp; and either a build-a-brad or flower fusion w/rhinestone brad (then which color rhinestone brad). We will use the stamp-a-majig for allignment. This card goes really quick.
#3 – Paper Piecing – Paper piecing means to stamp the image on plain paper, then stamp it a second time on colored or designer paper. Cut out a select area of colored paper and stick right over the base image. You can go 100% piecing crazy (and very cute) with this technique. If you don't enjoy cutting, you can piece one area and use makers to color in the other parts of your project. We will also use the Big Shot to die cut the Top Note layer in black, THEN (do you sense the excitement???) cut the foil. Yep, kitchen Reynolds foil. After the foil layer has been trimmed (with scissors), we will use the Big Shot to texture the foil. OMG to the max!!! This is the ultimate in cool. You can use white paper for this layer instead of foil (I know I periodically go overboard with the bling…).
So, can you tell which project floats my boat? (comment accepted below).
