She’s One of Us

Gerry is one of us!  If you are reading this, it's because you are an avid stamper and you understand our passion.  

Gerry lost everything in the Holiday Farm Fire.  I could not imagine loosing everything.  I know people are most important… I agree, but home and valuables… sigh… 

A few days ago I heard and wanted to give her time.  If all this happened to me, I'm not sure when I'd be ready to start rebuilding everything.  Thru Kerry, she said she wants the catalogs and would I send them to her.  Certainly!  If I were in her situation…  where to start?  I know how I treasure home.  I treasure my stampin room.  I treasure my stuff.  As an avid crafter, I spend at least half my waking hours in here.  Our hobby is a giving/generous hobby.  We give.  We make cards to give.  We spend WAY too much time making one card!  Our cards bring joy.  Our cards also give a hug in tough times.  I could not imagine my home and room being gone.  

I will be going thru my room this week and filling a box or two with basics, duplicate stamp sets, DSP that I tend to hoard.  Before she gets her catalogs, I want her to have some good stuff.  I want her to open the box and find things that make her smile, a little sticky on five sheets of DSP saying "I love this paper so much I can't use it!"  … or this DSP would be perfect for making a baby card, or this paper is your favorite colors (navy) and would make an elegant Christmas card.  I want her box to inspire her and encourage her to stamp, play, create, and design.

When we get new stampers in class, I notice how many of you are so kind and make yourselves available to help out.  I also notice how you have shared your duplicate supplies with new stampers to get them started.  Thank you!  

So… if you need a reason to refresh your stampin room and find yourself with a box of treasures (that will go to a good home), let me know.  I hope to bring Gerry a trunk load of treasures in the next two weeks.
