Wanna Hear A Heartwarming Little Story?
Are you already smiling?
Boz & McKayla! They are adorable!
So… here's my little story (and yes, I did get the okay from both to post pictures and tell the story in the words of a mom).
Summer is here! At 9pm, what are you doing? I know I'm in jammies kinda watching TV and playing around on my tablet. I must say I love this daily routine! These two are going somewhere. Ya, I'm envious of all their never ending energy.
Let me back up just a bit… Boz comes home from work with a bottle of Whipped Cream Vodka and Redbull. He puts the vodka in the freezer. He's of age and seems responsible, so I don't question too much. But I can't imagine him enjoying Whipped Cream Vodka (hmmm, it sounds good to me if I drank). I ask him what he's doing. He says it's McKayla's birthday Monday and this is part of her gift. She's coming over in a few minutes. I always like seeing her. A bit later she walks by looking beautiful and adorable at the same time. They hang out in his room until this 9p outing.
Okay, they are going to watch the sun set! Ahhhhhhh!
I did try some of that drink combo… I guess he gave her that bottle early. It was really good! Wait! Who does that? THAT late drinking that?
They are always doing fun stuff… and that's only when I get wind of them doing something and feel nosey enough to ask!
BUT, there's more, 10.30 at night they return. They enjoyed the sunset and along the way found these naturally growing incredible flowers. McKayla came right in hand handed me this. I should feel embarrassed cuz I'm in jammies and a robe and in the recliner under a blanket, but somehow I don't. I ask Boz to put it in a vase. See the picture below. I guess there were so many flowers, everywhere they turned around there was more and they were bigger than the last. Somehow this evening is feeling magical to silly mom in jammies. (…no, I had only one sip of that potion!…).
The next day Boz asked for a good birthday card for McKayla. I have about 30K for him to choose from, but wanted to make an original.
Um, I need to back up a bit again. She has her nails (maybe toes too) done black and white cow like. Of course adorable – some cow print, some flat black.
Stampers – let's all all that together:
sunset
mountains
cow print
that wild cool looking flower
their adorableness together
OH, this is the vase he choose. OMG, I hope this is a different bottle and they didn't finish that Whipped Cream bottle! Sheeze, if so, no wonder…
This cow has it's own little mini story. Some time ago, we were just getting to know McKayla. I returned from class at HL a bit late. I stopped by to say hi to both. We hadn't talked much. I mentioned I stamp and she's welcome to spend a few minutes making a card any time. I said if there's a project box in my room, she could look at the samples and dive in if she likes. Guess what? A few days later while Boz was showering, she said she would like to give it a try. I must applaud her confidence. She choose a cow card (gosh, I don't remember which card we did in class) that needed to be colored using The Blends. Hint to demonstrators – any time you give Blends (tutorial) to 20ish year olds, they master the Blends and love it. McKayla did awesome. She had her own cow, I had mine. I shared tips for successful coloring. She does awesome work. This cow I colored has been sitting on a little shelf next to Boz photo since that day. When I looked at this cow, I remember her first stampin experience and the fun we had.
Who knew this cow would come in handy for this card!
That's my cute story! I'm soooo happy they both said yes to me sharing. I have a feeling that everyone reading is feeling that magic.
Happy Stampin and Momming!
