Irresistible Resist
This class is all about using different products that Resist applying color to our projects. After looking at the pictures below, you will understand Resist. In class, I'll show you all 4 types of resist.
Have you heard about Brusho? Look in the Occasions mini catalog, page 26. Brusho is watercolor ink crystals. The crystals start out white/clear. When they are mixed with water… magic happens! You can spritz your paper or use aqua painters to coat the paper, then sprinkle the crystals over. It's quite fascinating!
The first sample is copied directly from the Stampin Up quarterly publication. Nice, huh?
The second sample is my attempt at the same project… just a bit different. I found using Brush is very Artsy Fartsy! … said in a loving admiration way… I also was mentally crazy because there's no structure to this first project. I tried to use less color in hopes that the project would be a bit more controlled. I do like the second project.
That vellum floral die cut is from the Flourish framelit set. If you haven't studied that framelit set… it's very very nice.
Here are the card insides. Yeah, a few whoops by catching an edge. I should have used my Stamparatus!

So this is my rainbow peacock. I tried all the Brusho colors after spritzing with water. Once again, it's crazy!
So… these two samples are after I shook my head and tried to get a grip on this product!
The butterfly card started out as a full piece of watercolor paper spritzed with water. the butterfly paper had red, orange and yellow. Again it was crazy! I cut out the orange butterfly wings and attached them to the denim paper. Ahh, much better and quite vibrant!
The flower card I decided to watercolor as if I was using aqua painters and ink pads. I used large blocks to make a separate colors (5 blocks lined up). Each had sprinkles of Brusho and a squeeze of water. Now we are talking!
Whew! are you interested in trying Brusho?
These two cards are classic Resist. I stamped with versa and used clear powder. I sponged over the top and sponged the edges in a darker color. I'm thrilled with these. I can imagine many many color combinations for this project.
My mojo has arrived. OH my.. I'll call this my Mojo Card.
The black paper started as white! versa mark the leaves and white crayon mini 3 dot clusters… they brayered with black.
Whoaaahhh…
This might be my favorite. I'll show you this technique in class! : )
Let me know if you can make it!
Happy Stampin,
PS – Gillian, which ones do you want?
