May Projects

May 6, 2016

If you haven't heard … Stampin Up has a new catalog effective June 1st!  That's great news because I've seen a sneak peek and it's wonderful!!!  That also means our current catalog, our mini catalog and one group of in-colors are retiring.  If there are any items you have been wanting – this is the time to get them!

A few manly stamp sets that will soon be retiring that I couldn't let slip by without using them one last time.  This month's projects are devoted to Dads, Grads and Manly birthdays. As girly stampers we like to follow our heart and make feminine cards.   We are very good at this – but there are men in our lives.  They deserve a card too.

Going Global

This project is surprisingly easy and quick… and it fun!  The foil/embossing folder image are impressive.

Apologies – the next 2 pictures are sideways…

The Open Sea

So I'm kinda proud of this card.  Again, it's a simple design and goes together quick.  It's so impressive looking!

Check out my little knots of bakers twine and linen thread…  fancy schmancy, huh?  It's all authentic looking!

The card with the dark sea… I wanted the white to pop.  I tried to color real smooth and that quickly became out of the question.  I was about to throw that idea away but as I took a second glance – hey "I like that"… really like it.  So, when watercoloring it's fine to  have a splotchy ocean and sky.  (… smiles)

Another picture of those linen thread knots.  It's more of a loop and loop brought together – it looks official and cool even if I can't find the technical term…

Stella!!!  The Wink of Stella is perfect for a bit of sparkly water and sky shimmer…

Note: the current catalogs are effective thru May 31st.  Are there any stamp sets you've been wanting?  This is the time to get them.  The SU retiree list is constantly updated as quantities are limited to stock on hand.  The retiree list offers many items at a serious discount!  Check it out! On my blog, click the Going, Going, Gone link to the left.  Also, the "in-colors" are effective 2 years.  That means a group of 5 "in-colors" are going away (Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist…  sniff, snivel, cry, pout…) and we will be getting 5 new colors. Let me know if you have any questions or want to place an order.

I look forward to seeing you this month.
