SURPRISE! A Stampin Treat with Janice

April 7, 2016

I have the best… BEST… BESTEST… friends ever!  Janice and Carolynn hopped on a plane and surprised me with their visit last week.  I hadn't seen them since November and I guess they were missing me as much as I was missing them.  (…I think there are photos somewhere, I'm sure not attractive caz I just looked them as they snuck around the corner…  kinda like "is this a dream… I'm happy, thrilled… but disoriented" kind of look…)

They were staying at Momma's house.  They tidied up their belongings because if I saw their bag of stampin' supplies I would have been suspicious… if I saw a familiar water glass or purse or laptop or tablet… I would have immediately searched and investigated…  They went to Nancy's house to execute their master surprise plan.  The weekend they visited I was having my 2 parties (Saturday's Dazzling Dames and Sunday's Dexter Stampers).  They planned to come into the house along with the other stampers.  They came in the side door and appeared!  WOW!!!

While here, Janice shared a project with us using Graphic 45 papers.  Here are pictures of the card and tag we made.  The product is so yummy!!!  I understand why Janice loves it so much.

I'd like to say the G45 papers do all the work… but that's not exactly true.  When you look at one sheet of their designer paper… you appreciate and love the prints.  It's a bit busy – but it's really really nice.  Keep in mind – those are my thoughts with just one sheet of G45 dsp.  Once you see a 2nd coordinating sheet – um, I'm overwhelmed!!!  My first question is what do I do with this… where do I start trying to make a card.  Seeing a sample (plenty available online) makes things easier.  Having a stampin teacher, Janice, hand you a completed card or project certainly helps rein in the crazy creative spirit these papers encourage.  That's phase 1 on my G45 experience.

Phase 2 is to look at the available supplies and add a personal twist to make it MINE.  I hope you all do this when you stamp.  With G45 dsp and trying to make the project mine… whoop… almost getting creatively lost again…  That's a good thing.

The tag is a pocket.  We used pieces of the dsp to make the little pocket inserts.

Thank you Janice for bringing supplies.  Thank you Carolynn and Janice for your visit.  Thank you everyone else involved in celebrating and keeping the secret.  I was 110% surprised, so happy and pleased… Thank you!

Happy Stampin,
