February Projects

February 4, 2016

Are you ready for spring?  I think I've had enough wintery, cold weather and my stampin room has had enough warm/rich winter colors… I want SPRING!

The Occasions mini catalog and Sale-a-bration catalog are full of spring colors and pastels…  that's my excuse for this month's projects being Springy.  Do you like flowers? Both project have quite a few different options/flavors of flowers.  They are so lovely and fresh!

I hope you've had a chance to go thru both catalogs.  Getting free stamp sets from the Sale-a-bration catalog make this my favorite time of the stampin year.  Both mini catalogs are awesome!

Watercolor Flowers
The technique is called resist.  We will heat emboss the flowers with white ink/white powder on white cardstock.  Color using makers or watercoloring make the flower come alive.  Adding 'A Wink of Stella' or glitter add the finishing touch.

The card below has Wink of Stella on the flower center.  Notice the little bit of ribbon attached with a staple?  What a great was to use those tiny pieces of beautiful ribbon.  Having just a bit of ribbon on the side of the card lets the stamped/colored flower be the attention getter…

This card has glitter rather than Wink of Stella.

The next project uses the Botanical Blooms Bundle.  This bundle is awesome!  The set is very versatile and the framelit set is HUGE!  I especially like the long fern/leaf framelit.  Look how nicely it creates an interesting border.  This product suite includes designer paper.  Okay, I admit that the paper seems a bit wild for my taste.  I didn't purchase it right away because I thought it was to crazy.  So many stampers love it so I figured I should invest in the bundle because everyone else likes it.  You'll notice many of the samples below are using the bundle colors but not the dsp.  I do like the calmer cards… until I threw in a touch of the dsp.  Ummm… I now like it all!

This white on white (neutral) card would be nice as any occasion including weddings and anniversaries.

Notice all the framelits?  No cutting, no punching… sweet!

Here's the card using the dsp.  It came out nice huh?  I threw in a vellum flower – oh, I like! I want to go to tropical destinations now.

Ummm…  washi tape – my latest fav accessory!  The washi tape makes this card!!

The product suite also has these rhinestone flower embellishments… a perfect fit.
