This month's projects focus on new colors, stamp sets and papers from the new catalog.

IT MOVES!!! 

This project is soooo fun!  See that balloon???  it pivots and wiggles, it moves!!! Imagine receiving a birthday card like this…  I find I keep playing, wiggling and looking at these cards… they are interactive.

Stampin Up has been creating Product Suites in their past few catalogs.  They coordinate a stamp set, paper, accessories and designer paper and sometimes bundle them. Did you know on designer paper packs, SU lists coordinating solid colors on the packaging? In this new catalog they put together a package of solid color cardstock that perfectly coordinates with the designer paper and washi tape.  They make it easy for us stampers!

We will learn a technique called 'kissing'.  Notice the dark blue dots on the balloon?  … and the stripes on the razzle balloon?  You ink the bold balloon in a light color, set aside.  You ink another stamp (with a pattern on it) in a different/darker color and have the stamps kiss!  Then stamp your paper.  Wha la = awsomness!!!  You can also lift color off the balloon by kissing or switch up the balloon to dark and kiss on light details. 

The hot air balloon below doesn't wiggle (but it can), but is impressive.

The second project is using the new stamp set You've Got This and has a belly band closure.  We will use new papers, ribbons and inks. SU created a product suite using these products called Bohemian. I naturally would not put these colors together, but WOW, they are great!  Cheryl saw this card and asked that we make it for one of our June projects.  I'm so happy she expressed interest in this card, I love it too!
