With the upcoming time change… and all the daffodils smiling in the sunshine, I'm feeling spring! Both projects this month include flowers.
Watercolor Roses Technique:
Check out the flowers on this project. Pretty, huh?
Here is a close up of the flower. The gold/blue flower is super pretty!
This card fits in a regular card envelops, but it's a Box card. Note: the watercolored flowers need to be hand cut to show a slight amount of the dark punch under the flower. No complaining allowed! …lol…
The punched out flower has a window sheet covering it.
Watercolor Roses Technique involves shimmery white paper, reinkers, aqua painters and heat embossing. It's addictive. The first time I did this technique was in Tahoe. Momma was RVing with Janice and Janice mentioned this technique. I was eager to give it a try once I was back home and had my own supplies. Janice knocked on Momma's RV door one afternoon and handed us the supplies. She shared the technique. She embossed roses on a few sheets of shimmery white and left us at it. OMG! we were captivated! (…. to say the least!) Momma and I oohed and aahed. We were disappointed when the generous supplies ran out. To this day, I'm still taking time to enjoy the technique. I try to find projects that will accommodate all my colored images.
The trick to this technique is to let the flowing colors not blend. The variation in the colors is that makes the flowers look interesting.
Sweet Subtle Easter Card on Vellum:
This flower is in the mini catalog. I knew this would be one of our Easter/Spring projects. Just wait until you see this project in person. The flowers are so soft and subtle. Again, we will heat emboss the flowers. We will color the back of the vellum using markers. This is another project you can get lost in… lost coloring. The project is very simple, yet worthy and elegant.
The other half of the samples (yup, I am easily carried away with creativity!).
I think the white/pink one is my fav.
Hmmm… think it needs glitter?
I look forward to seeing you this month.
