Caryn Hughes & Friends Challenge #5
Caryn from Tahoe has been kind enough to include me in her 'Challenges'.
This is Challenge #5… to use buttons. I was chatting with Caryn and she commented on her thought that buttons don't belong on a card. I laughed… But, as I thought about that, buttons ARE for clothing… they are functional. I kinda understand her thought process here. Well, Buttons ARE this challenge. Isn't it cool how the challenge is proposed?
Project #1:
My black/white and accent color WITH a button challenge. Okay, so I kinda overdid the accent color. I was proud of this creation.
The shimmer paint really likes the camera! In person, the shimmer isn't as pronounced.
The little tag is a perfect finishing touch. Notice the bling on the tag. I used rub-ons… they are fun!
The BUTTON… I used bling to cover up the button holes (see Caryn, you can think of this as a brad!!!… there are no holes for sewing).
Inside I used more rub-ons. They are prominent on the black paper!
Project #2:
Anything WITH a button challenge. You know how I'm loving this month's projects… especially the owl. Since the punch was right in front of me, I thought about a project including Mr. Owl. Since the first project was crisp and bright, I wanted this one to be more natural (fitting for an owl). Isn't he cute? The little red heart really stands out.
Another button… hum, kinda used the same button style (guess that type button works for me). I put some linen thread thru the holes and tied a knot.
Inside I used the bird punch for the branch… kinda brought the inside/outside together.
Happy Stampin!
