Take Three (retired stamp set)

April 3, 2010

The minute I saw this stamp set I absolutely LOVED it!THEN, it sat in my inventory not being used!  Waz up with dat???  So, finally I used it and loved it.  I loved it sooo much, I prepared to make LOTS of cards using the design below.  (didn't make them… supplies ready to roll…)

The stamp set retired a few years ago.  I had no problem pulling that ONE stamp set aside knowing soon I"d get to this project.  That stamp set didn't go into the Garage sale.

Another year past…  the project was safely wrapped up in a big zip lock bag, waiting for me to take a few minutes and complete it.  I visited this baggie often, but always said 'yes' to the next baggie of work.

Then Alexa spotted the set on my inventory list and said she'd take it (yep, it was highlighted as 'ready to sell').  My thoughts were '… ooooOOOh!  My baby…'.  But I really like Alexa and the set deserves a good home (gosh, sounds like I"m selling off puppies!).  I told Alexa she could have it, ONLY if I could borrow it back one time.  She kindly agreed.  As I retrieved the set from the baggie with the project materials, I asked myself why I was being like this…  I should just get the project done…

I did, it's done… the stamp set Take Three is now with Alexa…  : )

Cute project, huh?

Very simple cards…  the 'Less is More' look.

Originally, I stamped this card in craft black, embossed with clear then bleached the center of the little flowers/butterflies/daisies…  It's a great technique.  What is a cool little tid-bit of info on bleaching (a bit of an experiment) is that each color cardstock bleaches a different color.  I liked the blue here because it bleached white… nice.  I tried bleaching black, green, rust, and dark blue paper…  Can you guess what colors the bleached left the paper???  black=rust, green=yellowish, rust=lighter rush, dark blue=yellow.  Oh, another note: make sure to use fresh bleach!  Haauuuhhh?  you say???  Example: small amount of bleach in a bowl, ready to go…  kids ready to crawl into bed, run upstairs and spend a few minutes with them, do the night time routine…  come down and the bleach is ineffective!  … it's weak…  Dumped that bleach, poured new… yee haw, back in business.

On these cards, I embossed clear over black craft, then used a white gel pen to fill in and highlight the design.  That was nice… but J.Blang here needed a bit more… yep, crystal effects and dazzling diamonds…  Ahhh, now it's complete!  : )

Happy Stampin!
